Each letter becomes the rune whose sound is closest. This is a letter-by-letter transliteration, a modern game. The Norse spelled by sound, in their own language, so no spelling here is how they would have written it, and a few letters have no exact rune.
How the letters map
Th becomes thurisaz and ng becomes ingwaz. C, k and q all use kaunan. V and w use wunjo. X is kaunan then sowilo. Y uses eihwaz and z uses algiz. A doubled s is written once. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
